Math Task: Dr. Ken Jensen got us engaged with Summing the Squares. At our next meeting, we will delve into a problem of practice.

• Spotlight: Kim Smith asked for nominiations of exceptional math educators or teams of math educators for CCTM awards. Nominees are not required to be CCTM members.

CDE:

• Wednesday Webinars: Be the first to know more information about our upcoming Professional Learning Series - Webinar Wednesdays. These sessions will focus on a variety of innovative instructional teaching practices, including strategies for integrating AI, Digital Citizenship, and Cybersecurity. Join us for as many sessions as you'd like and receive a professional learning certificate from CDE for each live session attended. Fall webinars include:
  • November 20th: NCWIT Counselors for Computing to discuss "Artificial Intelligence, Bias, & Careers" (registration)
  • December 4th: Cyber.org
  • December 11th: MagicSchool AI

Major Work: Dr. Raymond Johnson engaged us at a high level with the book High School Mathematics Reimagined, Revitalized, and Relevant
